JASON EVANS
Actor, Blogger, Content Creator, Dramaturg, Editor, Designer, Singer, Storyteller, Teacher, Writer

Jason was born and raised in El Paso,Texas to Beverly L. Morley (Housewife) and Melvin T. Evans (Federal Government Worker/Retired WWII Naval Veteran).
It was apparent from very early on that performing was in his blood. At age 6 he started dance training in Ballet & Tap at a local dance studio. His very first theatrical performance was at the age of 8 as Charlie Brown in "A Charlie Brown Christmas" at a local theater. From that point on he was joyously hooked. He went on to appear in numerous productions throughout junior and senior high school.
In 1984, his family relocated to Orem, Utah where he graduated from Mountain View High School in 1986. He then began his undergraduate studies in Theatre at Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah. He appeared in many productions while there as well as making his professional acting debut in Moliere's "The Imaginary Invalid" in 1989 at the Tony Award winning Utah Shakespeare Festival during the inaugural season of the Randall Lunt Jones Memorial Theatre.
After the 1989-90 academic year and personal tragedy, Jason moved to New York City but in early 1993, his father suffered a massive stroke and heart attack, so his undergraduate studies were put on hold as well as his career while he came home to take care of his father during his surgery, hospitalization, recovery, and therapy. Shortly afterwards, his father was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and Parkinson's disease. Subsequently, his hiatus from his undergraduate studies and his career would last the next sixteen years while he took care of his father.
In January of 2005, his beloved father succumbed to both diabetes and Parkinson's. During the time between 2002 and 2009, Jason honed his art along with the training he received at Southern Utah University by appearing at several area theaters. During this time, he began to save money for his schooling, and finally in 2009 resumed his undergraduate studies this time at Utah Valley University.
He made numerous appearances on the U.V.U. stage but shortly into his second year, his mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's but with the help of home care workers, he continued his education. But after the 2014-2015 academic year, she entered into the final stages of Alzheimer's and had to be placed in a professional care facility; fortunately Jason had completed all of his core subject work for his major but had to seek full time work and had to put his education on hold again. Sadly, his beloved mother succumbed to Alzheimer's in September of 2015. He only needs to finish up a few courses online and will hopefully graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Theatre Arts in May of 2024.
Jason has vast experience in acting along with training in directing, design, stage and house management, box office management, and backstage work including scenery, lighting, props and costumes.
Jason has also recently discovered a passion for writing and dramaturgy.
